The RECON Roundup 3/14

Justin Rausch breaks down this week's biggest stories

Fabio Wibmer on a Skyscraper, a "Perfect" Helmet, and a Brutal Crankworx Track

This week in mountain biking has been nothing short of wild. From a death-defying backflip on a skyscraper to a helmet claiming perfect safety, here's what you missed.

Fabio Wibmer Goes Full Send on a Skyscraper

Some people ride trails. Others ride skyscrapers.

Fabio Wibmer teamed up with Masters of Dirt to send a backflip on top of the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg—a glass-paneled concert hall standing 360 feet above the city.

Not sure how they got permission for this stunt, but hey, we’re just glad someone hit “record.”

A Helmet With Perfect Safety?

MET’s new Revo helmet is making a bold claim: a perfect safety rating.

According to Virginia Tech’s helmet safety rankings, the Revo scored a prestigious five-star rating—something only a handful of mountain bike helmets have achieved.

Would you trust it to save your head?

Crankworx Rotorua's Brutal Track

Over in New Zealand, the Crankworx Rotorua Downhill track was absolutely wrecking riders.

Mason Parr got yeeted into a full front flip during practice, and Oscar Newham went flying over the bars on a nasty section of the course.

Hoping for a speedy recovery for all the riders who hit the dirt a little too hard this week.

That’s a wrap for this week’s MTB chaos—stay rubber-side down out there. 🚲💨
