Announcing RECON MTB Giveaway #2: Every $1 Spent = 1 Entry

We're stoked to be partnering with SCOTT on this giveaway!

After last month’s gorgeous giveaway bike: a custom-built 2025 Transition Sentinel V3, we had to come with something really exciting for our shoppers for giveaway #2.

Today, we’re proud to announce our next giveaway bike is a SCOTT Ransom 900 RC valued at $10,000 that one of our shoppers will win in their preferred size.

For every $1 you spend on ReconMTB.com between 04/19 at 12:00 AM MST and 05/19 at 11:59 PM MST, you will get 1 entry to winning the SCOTT Ransom in your preferrd size.

The full set of rules and eligibility requirements for the giveaway can be found on our website menu or at this link.

But without further ado, let’s dive into this exciting rig that’s anything but ordinary.

The Ransom 900 RC is a full-carbon, 170mm enduro machine packed with high-tech features and clever integration. The standout update is the shock placement: a custom Fox Float X Nude is hidden horizontally in the downtube and driven by a new six-bar linkage. This layout keeps the shock protected from the elements while concentrating forces near the bottom bracket to optimize frame strength and stiffness.

The shock works with Scott’s TracLoc remote system, offering three modes: full travel, a more progressive setting via an isolated air chamber, and a firm pedaling platform. A sag/travel indicator near the lower linkage provides accurate rear-wheel sag readings, compensating for the nonlinear leverage ratio throughout the travel.

Suspension kinematics include 25% progression, high anti-squat for efficiency, and consistent anti-rise for stable braking. The frame is category-5 tested and compatible with coil or air shocks (excluding RockShox Vivid Air).

The cockpit is equally advanced, featuring a one-piece Syncros Hixon iC carbon bar/stem with integrated cable routing through the headset. A flip chip adjusts chainstay length for 29” or mullet setups, while a Syncros angle-adjust headset gives ±0.6° of head angle adjustability. The bike ships with a neutral 64.4° headset installed.

Additional details include internal storage, a removable shock cover with built-in multitool, and a SRAM XO Transmission drivetrain. Braking duties are handled by SRAM Code Ultimate brakes with 200mm rotors, while the wheels are Race Face Turbine R 30s paired with Maxxis Dissector and Assegai tires.
